A family favourite we eat throughout the year, this quantity will serve 4 hungry diners.

Ingredients:
50ml Trulli Ulivi olive oil
175g Cannellini beans *
½ teaspoon fennel seeds
1 star anise
2 bay leaves
1 medium white onion
Sea salt flakes
* soaked overnight in plenty
of water

Method:
Cover beans with fresh cold water and your olive oil, add white onion halved, the star anise, fennel seeds and bay leaves. Simmer until tender, then remove star anise and bay leaves. While warm, season well with salt to taste. Serve, hot or cold with plenty of olive oil.
